Series lecture on Global Change and Sustainability by Prof. JP Malingreau

Had an amazing one week lecture series from Prof. Emeritus Jean-Paul Malingreau discussing future challenge for us as a citizen of the world such as how to feed billion of people, decreasing hunger, sustainable agriculture, increasing resilience and global management amid the threat from climate change. We also had a one day field trip, studying landscape from Merapi Volcano to Beach Dune on the south coast of Yogyakarta. In this field trip we discuss land encroachment that affects land use change, we observe agroforestry and many mosaics of ecosystem, also many alternative approaches to achieve sustainable community. We also exchange some ideas regarding agroforestry and the application of mosaic concept/rurbanization as strategy to achieve more sulf sustaining world.
